I am glad that you have found your way here. As you are reading this message, you might be feeling depressed, anxious, lonely, or even hopeless. The struggle, especially if you are going through it alone, can be painful and confusing. I would like you to know that I am here to help.
I am a licensed clinical social work therapist, with experience in outpatient mental health counseling at Mount Sinai Hospital since 2013. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University. I have trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma-informed treatment and group therapy. I am fluent in both English and Polish and I provide psychotherapy services in both languages.
I specialize in treating adults with the following conditions:
• Depression
• Anxiety disorders
• Trauma
• Relationship issues
• Grief
• Chronic pain
• Life-stage transitions
I offer individual, couple, and group therapy, choosing methods from different theoretical orientations to meet the specific needs of my clients and to ensure that their treatment is effective. I use psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies, and systems perspective. I incorporate dream work, meditation, and breathing and relaxation exercises into my sessions.
Each person is capable of healing and improving his/her/their life, but change is a unique process. My goal as your therapist is to support you in finding what you are looking for and to help you discover what works and what does not work for you. I will aim to create a space that is safe and shielded from the outside noise, to help you examine what stands in your way of living a happy and fulfilled life, and to help you make the changes you desire. You will learn how to find your own answers and how to make your own decisions. I premise my work on the belief that it is never too late to be happy, and the conviction that the sky is the limit if one looks for his/her/their answers from within.
I look forward to meeting with you and talking about what you need, what is important to you, and how I can help.
